The Naval Task Force 83 headed by COL IVAN DR PAPERA PN(M)(MNSA), Commander, NTF83 and LTCOL RAMIL DC HOLGADO PN(M), Deputy Commander, NTF83 participated earlier today in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) in front of Ocean Park Hotel in Manila.
Participants for the activity included one Rescue Recon Team from Philippine Marines Corps, one Rescue Recon Team from Naval Reserve Center-National Capital Region and one Ambulance-Medical Team. Same drill was also conducted in Headquarters Naval Task Force 83 and Tactical Command Posts in Marikina and Manila . The earthquake drill seeks to prepare the personnel, equipment and the overall capabilities of the Task Force in case such disaster occurs.
The NSED is spearheaded nationally by the Office of Civil Defense in partnership with various national and local agencies.
